Get her this 500 for about $3-4k, cheaper, more space and cheaper.
On a more serious note, I wouldn't mind test driving a Fiat 500.

I'm currently driving a 2012 500 Pop at work and I find it very underwhelming. Though that may have something to do with the fact that it's an automatic. At 50k miles the interior is absolutely falling apart, so that doesn't help either.

Watch out for the AWD ones though. My moms cost thousands in repairs on the AWD and ford never figured out what was wrong but it was a late 2004 build 2005 model so it was a lemon. the CVT was also constantly terrible too sending into limp mode on the highway one time too many. I hit a deer in it though and barely felt a thing even though the drivers door wouldn't open because i pushed the fender into it the deers butt took out the headlight . Biggest trunk and back seat i have ever seen though

my mom has the 500 sport with tip-tronic, took it to the twisty roads and love it, just wish it was a stick! the 500T or the abarth should be tons better!

I had an '06 with CVT, the CVT is awful. But the car was otherwise great. I now have a SHO with a proper 6 speed auto, lol.
